Short outlines of management

Paturzo, the art of Sorrento inlaid woodPaturzo Giovanni began life as wood handy-man in 1943 in Sorrento, at Via dell'Accademia, in the heart of the old town. At the beginning, the activity of production consisted in a limited number of inlaid-wood pieces, usually sold to local traders.

Afterwards, his sons Remo and Michele also began learning the art of inlaying wood, whereas another son, Giustino, attended to the management. In 1966 the factory moved to new premises, then there were employed three skilled workmen. The manufacturing process was successively improved to increase both yield and quality of products.

So, the growth of the production connected with the enlargement of the trading network required to change the firm's style into a general company, and a further increase of capital stock allowed the acquisition of new wider premises destined partly to the workshops and partly to warehouse, show-rooms, business and management offices.
